RAFAEL offers an acoustic detection and direction finding system, which will trigger an alarm when sniper or small arms fire is detected in the protected area. SADS is a man portable or vehicular, real-time acoustic system which can be carried by a single soldier or be mounted on a patrol vehicle or tank. It detects and identifies a sniper firing signal, up to ranges of 1,000 meters (3,000 ft) with standard deviation of less than 3 degrees.
