RAFAEL'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS APPOINTS
MAJOR GENERAL (RES.) ILAN BIRAN AS CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD
June 12, 2007 – Haifa. The Board of Directors of RAFAEL Armament Development Authority Ltd. has appointed Major General (res.) Ilan Biran as the company's Chairman of the Board.
Major General (res.) Ilan Biran, 60, has filled a number of prominent positions in the Israel Defense Forces and later in Israel's business sector, among them: Commander of the IDF Central Command, Director General of the Ministry of Defense, Chairman of the Board of Israel's Oil Refineries, President and CEO of Bezeq, Israel Telecommunication Corp. Ltd and Chairman of the Board of YES, Satellite Television Company.
Major General (Res.) Biran holds a BA in Economics and Business Administration from Bar-Ilan University, an Associate Diploma in Strategy and Political Economic Research from Georgetown University in Washington DC and is a graduate of the Command and Staff College of the United States Marines.
Biran stated that "RAFAEL as Israel's Core National Defense Research resource must create a qualitative advantage in IDF weapon systems and capabilities, thereby allowing RAFAEL to grow and reach the forefront of the competitive international market."
